Christmas Goodies

I had 60 little ones to make goodies for this Christmas. I decided to make some snowman soup for them....fast and simple! I used my SU! watercolor pencils to color the cute snowman...so much fun and it made the process super quick.
I got this poem off the internet and printed it up on labels for quick assembly! :-)
I was trying to come up with something to give to one of my daughter's teachers when my GF Brenda posted her hot cocoa holders! Such PERFECT timing since I already had lots of hot cocoa for the snowman soup I was making. I completely CASEd hers since they were just too perfect!! Thanks Brenda for the measurements and inspiration!! :-)
I can't believe Christmas is just a few days away...AAAHHH!!! I'm usually busy trying to get things done up until then. I never really get to just relax and enjoy the holiday season with my family. But I'm hoping I budgeted my time better this year and I'll be able to have some down time before the big day so I can t spend some quality time with them.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are able to take some time for yourself and enjoy the holidays with your family as well! :-)

Christmas Gift Tags

Yikes! I am so behind on everything. But at least I'm posting this before Christmas! (Hehe!) Here are some tags I made for Christmas this year. Really quick and easy since one of my non-crafty friends wanted to make them. :-) We used my Two Tags SU! Bigz die and we were able to kick out a whole bunch of these in no time!

Quick Christmas Gifts

I am getting together with some of my high school friends for our annual Christmas party today. It's amazing that we are still holding strong to our tradition some 20 years after we all graduated. Although our group size has gotten smaller with people moving away and such, our overall size has grown with the many blessings that we have created. It's nice when we get together and are able to catch up like old times and now watch all of our children play together.

Anyways these are what I made for my girlfirends this year...quick little notebooks that I made from file folders. I made 8 of these in no time using the tutorials on SCS and Craft Project Centrals. I used my Cricut to cut out the letters and Hello Kitty's. They're cut from vinyl which made adhering them to the notebooks quick and easy. I must say that I love working with vinyl!

I hope you are having a fun weekend! Thank you for stopping by!

A Quick Birthday Card

A few weeks ago my family attended a birthday party for one of my son's old preschool classmates. It's nice that even though our kids have moved on to different schools, that we are still able to get together to catch up on things. Anyways, since easel cards seem to come together so quickly for me, and as usual I had lost track of the days and found myself trying to put together a card the night before the party, I decided easel was the way to go! :-) I didn't really have time to sit and "bling" it up plus since the birthday girl was turning 5, I figured she would appreciate her card with or without the extra bling! hehe! This was a fun card to put together! I enjoy making cards for kids since there isn't as much pressure for it to look perfect! LOL!!

Thanks for stopping by! :-) Hope you're enjoying the weekend!

A Zig Zag Birthday Card

After seeing Joni's Zig Zag card I knew I had to give it a try. So since my GF Brenda's birthday was coming up, I decided to make one for her! It took me a few tries to get the measurements just right but once I got the hang of it, I had fun putting it all together! Thank you Joni for the inspiration!!

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed the excitement of Black Friday!! Me? I decided to SLEEP IN this year and avoid the crowds!! :-)

Halloween Goodies

I have been busy making small Halloween goodies for both my son and daughter. I needed about 60 Halloween treats for both of them to give out to their classes so I knew I wanted to make some quick and easy. Well, after seeing these cute little treat pouches over at Dawn's Stamping Studio I immediately knew that was what I wanted to make. Instead of the candy though, I decided to fill my pouches with glow sticks and Teddy Grahams. And here are the little milk carton houses I made for my son's teachers. I started working on them a while ago but stopped mid way to start working on some Halloween goodies that my daughter needed a bit earlier than expected. By the time I was able to start working on these houses again, I wasn't sure if it was what I wanted to create anymore.
I decided to tie the houses close so that they could get to their treats without having to tear them open.
My son is part of a shared class at his school, which means there are two classes in one room with the two teacher's team teaching. I know these teachers both work very hard...especially since they have to deal with 40 kids on a daily basis!! So I wanted to make sure they got something from my son that let them know how much they are appreciated! Well, my son just so happens to be in the same class as a certain "Mama's" son and so you can just imagine how intimidating that can be for me from a crafting standpoint! I "luv" her and am so glad to have met her in person...she is the nicest most sweetest person!! But man, I know anything I create will be nothing compared to what she creates. So my little houses are like the appetizers before her FANTABULOUS main course! If you haven't seen what Mama made for them you gotta go check it out now...................YIKES right?!? Well that's why I had to stop and think if I really wanted to give them what I was planning on making. In the end, since it's supposed to be from my son, I had him decide what he wanted to give to his teachers. He said he wanted to give them the "little house things you made" instead of picking something else out at the store! "Mama" you are freakin' amazing so I don't mind looking like an amateur in comparison to you! ;-) hehehe!!

Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog. I know I'm not a frequent poster so I truly do appreciate those of you who stop by and leave me such sweet comments! I hope you have a great weekend and a "spooktakular" Halloween! :-)

Snuggle Birthday Card

Here's a quick card I put together for a birthday party my family and I went to this weekend. I sat and sat trying to figure out what to do. Since my creative juices were just not flowing, I ended up using the birthday invitation as my inspiration for the color choices and layout. Once I decided to follow the invite everything came together quickly! I wish I was just naturally creative so I wouldn't waste hours sitting around trying to figure out what to do. :-)

I hope your week is off to a good a start!

A Great Surprise

I came home to such a great surprise today! My GF Brenda sent me some happy mail for my birthday. I was so surprised! Look at the goodies she sent...unreal! I absolutely LOVE it all! I will definitely make use of everything! Thank you so much Brenda! You are just the sweetest person and I am so lucky to have you as my friend!

Baby Shower

Today was the baby shower my DH and I were planning for my SIL, her DH, and their DD. My SIL actually started feeling contractions from last month. Then last week she had some contractions that were so bad that she thought she was in labor! Luckily it wasn't the "real thing" and she was able to hold the baby in long enough to make it to the shower. :-) hehe!

Anyways, these are some of the things I made for the shower. I made a card and gift tag to go on the gifts we gave them. And then the pillow boxes are the favors I made. I posted a picture of the invites I made earlier. All in all it turned out to be a nice family shower! Hopefully we were able to help them get stocked up on some of the baby necessities they'll need!

I hope you had a nice weekend!

Birthday Party Invitations

These are the invitations I made a few weeks ago for by DD's 4th birthday party that's coming up at the end of this month. She chose her party theme this year and I was so happy that she chose (WITHOUT any persuasion from me what so ever) Hello Kitty...since I love HK too!! ;-) I decided to make these pocket card invites since they come together so quickly...and they matched the M&M's favors that I had already started putting together (see below). :-)I hope you had a great weekend!! It went by way too fast for me! :-(

A Quick Card for my Niece

On Sunday, my family & I headed to Hawaii Kai for a pool party at my MIL's house. Our niece turned 4 that day (exactly 3 weeks before my DD) and luckily it was a long weekend so we didn't have to rush home to get ready for work and school the next day. We actually got to my MIL's house around 10:30 a.m. and ended up staying there until around 7:30 p.m.!! It was so nice just hanging out and talking with my SIL & her DH that we completely lost track of time!! They're expecting baby #2 in about a month and so we had to take advantage of their"leisurely" time now!! hehehe :-)

Anyways, this is the quick card that I put together for our niece. It was a nice, relaxing day and the kids had a blast!! Our, by then, very grouchy DD knocked out within the first 5 minutes of our drive home...ah, wishes really do come true sometimes!! :-)

Simple Birthday Card

My family and I had a pretty fun Labor Day weekend. Our daughter started her first Tiny Tots class on Saturday and then we had a birthday party to go to right afterwards. This is the card I made for that party. The party was actually for one of the girls that was in my son's preschool class last school year. A handful of us moms had been getting together for dinners during the school year and we were so sad when the kids graduated from preschool this year. This was the first time we all got together since the kids all went their separate ways to start kindergarten. It was so fun seeing how excited all of the kids got when they were all together...and it was nice catching up with the other moms and finding out how kindergarten has been for them at their new schools. It's amazing how fast time flies by...especially when you have kids!!!

Hoping you had a fun weekend too!! :-)

A Ketto Birthday Card

Here's a quick card I made for my cousin who recently turned 21....ah, to be 21 again! Anyways, I've been wanting to use this stamp for a while now but kept forgetting I had it. Since my cousin is into Asian things, and I had just gone through my stamps, I was able to use it for her card (yippee)! I had to kind of throw this one together because I was trying to get it to her before she left to move in to her dorm...and I had once again lost track of my days (ugh)!

I hope you are getting ready for the long weekend...I know I am!! :-)

Birthday Shaker Card

Here's the birthday card I made for my MIL recently. I so suck at making shakers but I knew my MIL would appreciate my effort. I definitely need more practice making these. This card took me way too long to make and I almost scrapped it all together but in the end, I was able to salvage it! Joy (aka the shaker queen), you are my idol!! :-)

Baby Shower Invites

hehehe...okay, I know I threw a few of you off with my last post title! I'm just that behind on things!! Hopefully I'll be able to get caught up on everything. I even had to go out and buy a birthday card this past weekend (GASP)! I just haven't quite got my schedule down yet since my son started kindergarten! Ugh, I hate feeling so disorganized!!

Anyways, moving on, my DH and I are planning a sorta baby shower for his sister and her DH and DD. It's going to be more like a family get together since my DH wants to throw a shower for them BUT does not want any of the games included! So here are the invites I quickly put together last week. Again, like everything else in my life right now, these were late since the party is in less than a month! Oh well, better late than never is my new motto!! heehee!!

Thank you for your sweet comments and for continuing to visit my blog...especially since I post so infrequently!! :-) I appreciate all of you!!

Patchwork Pals Birthday Card

Here's another birthday card I recently made. I used Bonnie from the Billy and Bonnie Patchwork Pals set that my MIL bought for me a while ago. These die cut sets are so cute! If you haven't seen these, check out the Kanban website. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're having a great weekend!!

M&M's Favor Tutorial

I was feeling a bit ambitious when I woke up this morning and thought I'd put together a quick tutorial for something I've been working on. I've been trying to think of favors for my daughters upcoming birthday and came up with a holder that fits the fun size M & M's pouches perfectly. I needed something easy and quick since I have to make about 50 of them. This is my first tutorial so I apologize if it doesn't "flow" the way it should. Here we go...

Take a 3 3/4" x 10 1/2" piece of paper and...
...score it at 1 1/4", 5", 5 1/2", & 9 1/4"
Punch each end of the paper using a scallop edge punch
It should look like this
Fold back the scalloped edges...
...and fold in on the middle score lines
It should look like this now
Using a horizontal slot punch, punch one end of the holder then...
...using the punched side, mark the opposite side of the holder so that the slots line up
Punch out the marked area
Apply adhesive in the creased areas on both ends of the holder
Fold the flaps down
It should look like this...the slots line up perfectly
On the "back" side of the holder, punch slits to hold the M&M's pouch in place
The M&M's bag should fit nicely between the slits
Tie a ribbon through the horizontal slots...
...and embellish
Ta da!!
I hope this tutorial made sense. I love how quick these favors came together once I figured out how I wanted them to look. Thanks for stopping by!

Elmo Easel Card

Here's one more easel card that I made for our cousin's baby who is celebrating his first birthday on Saturday. I've been wanting to try and make one of those round Elmo cards that I kept seeing around for a while now but ended up turning it into an easel card instead. I like how he is on display now and seems to be saying Happy Birthday to the birthday boy! Such a fun card!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your week is off to a good start!
