Perpetual Folding Birthday Card

Here's the front of my dad's card
My dad celebrated his birthday last week.  Here is the card I made for him.  I love to make more challenging cards for him because it's always fun for everyone to watch him try to figure out how to open it (last year I made him this card).  So when I got my Stampin' Success in the mail a few months ago and it featured this perpetual folding card, I knew it would be perfect for my dad!

First fold
Second fold (my son decided he wanted to sign it)
And here's the last fold...my kids drew pictures for their Papa
This card did take me a couple of tries to perfect.  The paper needs to be cut just right for all of the folds to "work".  And then the task of embellishing all of the different folds took me some time since it's like trying to create 4 cards in one.  But it was all worth it.  I wish I had taken some pictures of my dad trying to figure it out...it was pretty funny. (hehehe!)  We all got a good laugh at the confused expression on his face! :-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great week!

Mother's Day Cards

Here are the cards I made for my mom and MIL for Mother's Day. I really like making these waterfall cards especially when the cards are for more than one occasion which just so happens to be the case for my mom! :-)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope all you mom's out there have a wonderful Mother's day!

Quick Smirk Card

Yesterday I had a fun shopping day with my wonderful MIL. I love that she's into crafting too and that we both get so excited whenever we get the chance to go shopping for more "supplies" together! :-) While we were shopping, she picked up a few of the new Smirk stamps for me...how sweet is that?! Well she told me to hurry and make something with it so I put this quick card together for her before she stopped by tonight.

Thanks for stopping by!

Easel Calendar Boxes

I apologize for the junkie photos in this post...I couldn't find my camera and so I had to use my phone to take these shots. Anyways, I've been making easel calendar boxes as Christmas gifts for the past week or so. I forgot to get pictures of the first 2 I made for my son's teachers since I made them the night before we had to take them in! ;-) I included a gift card in each of the drawers for his teachers. For these, I included these notepad/calendar pocket-folios in the drawers. I got the instructions for the easel calendar boxes through Tammy Maxvill's Fun Paper Candy blog. These were so much fun to make!!

More Thank You Cards

Here's a few more of the Thank You cards I finished for my MIL. I'm hoping to be able to finish the rest by tomorrow (fingers crossed)! As you can tell, I'm starting to run out of steam and my creative juices have definitely begun to flow very slowly. I have to try and hurry to get the rest done before "the juice" comes to a complete stop!!!

Thank You Cards

Woo hoo!! I'm back in business. My DH surprised me today with an early birthday present...a new LAPTOP!!! Yippee!! Since my last laptop suddenly bit the dust, I have been trying to squeeze in time here and there to post things via my husbands computer. Now I will hopefully be able to start posting my projects more regularly (clap, clap, clap), but also I'll have to start getting things moving with my online classes (blah)!

Anyways, a few days ago my MIL asks if I could make 20 Thank You cards for her to give out to her friends. She wanted me to make them an assortment of different ones. With 20 cards to make, I'm trying to keep them quick and simple so that my MIL isn't waiting the rest of the year for her cards (since that's pretty much the rate at which I normally work)!! :-) I'm done with almost half of them...although I may make some extras because I don't know if I really like them all. Here's what I've completed so far. Thank you for stopping by and for all of your kind words! It really brightens my day when I receive comments from you so I wanted to make sure to thank you all!

Smirk Gatefold Times Six Mini Album

I went to a class at Photo Craft at the beginning of the month with my mom-in-law. It was a "Smirk Gatefold Times Six Mini Album" class. Well you say "Smirk" and I'm there. Here is what we made. I love it...and it was so easy to make!! It was well worth the class fee! :-)
Here's the album opened up...each of the three sections open up
Here's what it looks like closed up

Playing Catch Up

Okay, I'm sorry for all of these posts but since my computer was down for so long I have lots of catching up to do. In fact, my computer is still not fixed and I decided to just start downloading pictures onto my husbands computer!

Anyways, after receiving my framed art from Michelle, a little while back, I wanted to make some of my own using her masterpiece as my inspiration! I actually found some 12x12 frames that my mom-in-law had bought for me a while back and decided to use them. Since my cousin is having a birthday party for her daughter in a few weeks, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to make one!
This one's not framed yet...I was having a hard time getting a good picture of it so I took it out of the frame.
I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background and some Stickles on the hula girl for some bling!
After the first one, I was on a roll.....
My GF had a birthday party for her daughter this past weekend and so I made one for her as well. It was the perfect project to use up some of my Smirk scraps!

Again, I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background and Stickles for some bling. Here's the matching card I made to go along with the gift!
After my mom saw the first two I made, she asked me if I could make one for her friend who was celebrating her birthday this past weekend.
We found the smaller 8x8 frame at Wal-mart. Her friend's favorite color is purple and she likes Asian themed things.
Here's the card that I made for my mom to give with her gift. I let her choose what she wanted on it and she chose this Gorjuss Girl image.
And the last one I made was to welcome a new addition to the family. My DH's cousin & his wife welcomed their second child last month. I still have to deliver this to them so hopefully they don't see this before it gets to them! But if I'm not that lucky, Ardis I hope you like it!
Took it out of the frame because the glass and my camera's flash were not cooperating
I just think Stickles are the greatest! Easy to use and adds such great bling to your projects!
Thank you again Michelle for your inspiration! As you can tell, I just LOVE the framed art you made for me!! :-) I hope you're all having a wonderful day!!

Smirk Card

Okay, can I just say that I have fallen in love with this Smirk line?? My mom-in-law (who's just the bestestest) went on a mini shopping spree yesterday and bought me a bunch of goodies... a Grab 'n Go case (so I can take my projects with me when I make my many trips to the hospital and to my parent's house), a bunch of great ribbon, and last but absolutely not least a pack of Naughty but Nice Smirk paper which she bought from Brian at Photo Craft. As soon as I tore into the paper pack, I just wanted to make something with it! I came up with this card.

I don't know if you can see it, but the butterflies on the background paper, which was part of this paper pack, actually has glitter on them.
And the wording under the characters have a shiny, foil like finish. I just think this line of goodies are so cute! I finished the card up by adding some flower rhinestones that I picked up at ManLe's store this past weekend.
Thanks for stopping by!! It's been a stressful few months for me and crafting has been my stress reliever! I appreciate all of your kind words and I'm so happy I discovered this wonderful sisterhood of craft bloggers! :-)
