Graduation Ian Card

I was blog hopping again and ran across Enjoli's Stamping Under the Sun blog with the graduation money cards she made...loved it! So I went onto YouTube and found a tutorial for it. Well my 4 year old son was watching the tutorial with me and wanted me to make one too! Since I wasn't really "feeling" the graduation slider card I made for my husband's cousin, I thought I'd make this money card for him instead. I have no clue if the high school's in Japan have school colors like the ones here so I just let my son choose the colors for this one. We'll probably give more than a dollar (haha!) but that's all I had in my wallet at the time!

Mom's Gift

So today is my mom's birthday and I totally forgot to wrap her present!! So when I got up this morning the first thing I thought to do was to make one of those card holder's from Teri's tutorials that I had so much fun making. I had to alter the dimensions a little to fit mom's gift in there but it still came out looking pretty cute I think! :-) Thank you Teri for such great step by step tutorials!

RAK from Joy

Ok, so I mentioned that Joy had sent me some goodies with my Tamiko order last week (Woohoo...I just now figured out how you gals were linking other blogs to your posts!! Sorry, I'm a little slow! haha!). Well here's a picture of all the wonderful goodies she sent!! I seriously couldn't believe it and yelled for my husband to come and see my very first RAK! I love the pretty card Joy made and all of the beautiful flowers and dew drops! I opened them up right away and started brain storming! :-) Thank you again Joy!

Birthday Card for Mom

My mom's birthday is on Monday. I came up with this quick little card today. I used my Cricut for the cupcake and the scalloped circle...I love my Cricut! I added some pearl beads to the scalloped edges and used my one and only bottle (ha!) of Stickles on the frosting and the flame of the candle! Yup, I must admit, I am loving the Stickles and am definitely going out to buy more! :-) Oh, and I used my Marvy Uchida Corru-Gator Paper Crimper to give the base of my cupcake a more authentic look!

My Gretel Card

It amazes me how generous blogging sisters are! I recently received this Gretel image (as well as Heidi) from Linda (thanks so much again Linda)! I just love them. Gretel is one of the new C.C. Designs Swiss Pixies images. Well I knew right away that I had to make something with her. I came up with the card below. Despite the fact that I'm limited to only 6 Copic markers (one of them being the no color blender), I think she came out pretty good...and now you know what colors all of my images will be whenever I use my Copics to color them!! ha! :-)

I also ordered some goodies through Joy at Tamiko's. To my surprise, when I opened my package up, she had so generously sent some additional goodies (like the flowers and dew drops that I used on this card) just because it took a little longer for her to get my order out in the mail...simply amazing!

Thank you Linda and Joy for helping to make this card possible! Heehee!! :-)

Animal Baby Card

This card is for my cousin who just had her second baby!! I can't wait to see pictures of him! The coloring on these images really suck because I was using some pretty old stamp markers to color them with...I really need to invest in more Copics!! Where's the best place to buy them??

Kokeshi Doll Card

This was initially supposed to be a birthday card but I couldn't find my "Happy Birthday" stamp anywhere! That's what happens when I leave my stamps in the reach of my daughter...although I don't really have a choice since my craft area is my dining table!! Anyways, this card didn't go as I had planned but I think it came out okay anyway.I ended up layering the kokeshi doll image because I smuged up my initial stamped image and didn't want to waste it so I just stamped a duplicate image and layered it on top! My second attempt at stamping it didn't come out clean either but I thought layering it one more time would be stretching it! ha! :-)
(I definitely need some Copic marker lessons...that's what I used to color her!) As a last minute effect, I added some Stickles to her kimono...more because I just bought my first bottle of it and I wanted to use it (never used it before...told you I'm a newbie!) :-)

Graduation Slider Card

I just remembered that I needed to make yet another graduation card for my husband's cousin who just graduated from high school in Japan! I was on the Splitcoaststampers website and stumbled upon the tutorial to make this slider card and thought it would be perfect for a graduation card!

Father's Day Cards

Here are some Father's Day cards I made for my husband and my dad. I always find it difficult to make cards for males but I like the way these turned out. Simple and masculine...and they really got a kick out of their cards!

My Simple Card Holder

Well while I was "blog hopping" this morning, I ran across a tutorial that Teri from Big Ideas from a Little Girl (http://bigideasfromalittlegirl.blogspot.com/2009/05/simple-card-holder-tutorial.html) posted last month on how to make a simple card holder. It was so adorable that I just had to try and make one myself! I love the way this turned out!! Thanks Teri!!

My First BIA Project

I recently attended the Rubber Stamp and Scrapbooking Expo at the Blaisdell and got a GREAT deal on a Zutter Bind-It-All...30 bucks! I had been eyeing it up at Ben Franklin but was trying to save up for it. I was so happy to have received such a great deal on it that I promptly got to work using it when I got home that day! My 2 1/2 year old daughter absolutely LOVES notebooks (even more than dolls sometimes) to just scribble in and so I know I will get a lot of use out of my new toy!

Cookie Boxes

My husband is leaving his current full time job to return to work at Pearl Harbor Shipyard and wanted to give the secretaries in his office some cookies before he left. I thought what a perfect opportunity to make these boxes again. These are the same boxes I made a while back using my Big Shot. The first time I made them, they were used to hold cupcakes. This time around, I just lined the boxes with waxed paper, stacked some Snickerdoodle cookies in them, and voila!
