Thank You Cards

Woo hoo!! I'm back in business. My DH surprised me today with an early birthday present...a new LAPTOP!!! Yippee!! Since my last laptop suddenly bit the dust, I have been trying to squeeze in time here and there to post things via my husbands computer. Now I will hopefully be able to start posting my projects more regularly (clap, clap, clap), but also I'll have to start getting things moving with my online classes (blah)!

Anyways, a few days ago my MIL asks if I could make 20 Thank You cards for her to give out to her friends. She wanted me to make them an assortment of different ones. With 20 cards to make, I'm trying to keep them quick and simple so that my MIL isn't waiting the rest of the year for her cards (since that's pretty much the rate at which I normally work)!! :-) I'm done with almost half of them...although I may make some extras because I don't know if I really like them all. Here's what I've completed so far. Thank you for stopping by and for all of your kind words! It really brightens my day when I receive comments from you so I wanted to make sure to thank you all!

An Adorable Bookmark

As you may have read in my other post, my mom-in-law is a crafter herself. She has been making bookmarks for her girlfriends who all love to read. A few weeks ago she came over and surprised me with a bookmark that she made especially for me! Isn't it so cute?? I LOVE Hello Kitty so I was so happy when she gave this to me! Thanks again Mom!!

A Birthday Gift for Tutu

My mom-in-law's birthday was last week. She had been admiring some of the framed collages I have been making so I thought it would be the perfect gift for her. She's into crafting herself so I knew she would appreciate this gift!

This time, I thought to add a more personal touch to it by adding some pictures of her and her grandchildren. I even added a picture of our first born son, who passed away when he was 10 days old. He was her first grandchild and his passing devastated us all. She is the only person, that always remembers his birthday and the anniversary of his passing by bringing flowers and goodies over on those significant days. She is a very caring and generous woman and she means more to us than she will ever know!

She was very touched when she opened her gift and saw that pictures of all of her grandchildren were on it!
Since my mom-in-law is a very crafty lady herself, I knew I wanted to make her birthday card a bit more "fancy" than the normal card. She loved her card just as much as her gift!

Thank you Mom for all that you do for me and the kids! You are truly a special person and we love you very much!!!

A Special Gift

My daughter has been going through speech therapy for almost a year now. She ages out of the program next month. She has made so much progress, especially in the last few months, that fortunately, but sadly, services with her Occupational Therapist, Connie, were ended early. I wanted to make sure I gave Connie a little something to let her know how much we appreciate all that she has done for us.

I made her this little drawer, that Brenda gave me the instructions for, and filled it with a matching post-it note holder, post-it keyring, and pen. And of course, I had to make a matching card to go along with it! I just love those Aloha Cuties Graphics by Nancy Kubo! They make it so easy to put cards and other projects together really quickly!

Smirk Gatefold Times Six Mini Album

I went to a class at Photo Craft at the beginning of the month with my mom-in-law. It was a "Smirk Gatefold Times Six Mini Album" class. Well you say "Smirk" and I'm there. Here is what we made. I love it...and it was so easy to make!! It was well worth the class fee! :-)
Here's the album opened up...each of the three sections open up
Here's what it looks like closed up

A Birthday Gift

My mom really liked the framed collages that I have been making so she asked me to make yet another for her, for her friend's birthday. This time she wanted a more Hawaiiana theme to it. This is what I came up with.I was having a hard time figuring out how to bling up the Hawaiian quilt stamps that my mom wanted me to use. So I decided to emboss them.
And you know how much I love Stickles...
Here's the birthday card I made to go along with the gift my mom was giving to her friend.
My mom was really happy with how it all turned out. I hope her friend liked it too! :-)

Binder for Preschool

It's my son's last year in preschool and he actually needed a 2" binder this year. Since he's still too young to be embarrassed by me decorating his school supplies, I jumped at my chance to spruce his binder up a bit!! hehehe! I know the size of everything is a bit big but I was putting this together the night before we needed to take his school supplies in and I just didn't have time to play with the sizing of everything. I just "guesstimated" the size on my Cricut and ran with it...

RAK from Joni

I'm so sorry it's been so long since my last post. My laptop is fried! My husband tried fixing it...but I think he broke it more! I'm so sad! Now I'm trying to work off of our desktop but I don't like having my pictures scattered between computers!! I gotta start backing them up! Anyways, because of my computer issues, and my day to day crazy life, the next few posts are a little back dated...so sorry!!

I received this RAK from Joni H. a while ago. I was so surprised to receive an envelope from her in the mail!! It truly made my day. She made this adorable folder and filled it with the cutest digi stamps! I love her coloring and of course the added bling to her dress!!
Thank you so much Joni for thinking of me!!! And it was so nice to finally meet you at the last meeting! :-)

Sweet Thank You Card

Last month I participated in my first Aloha RAK coordinated by Jen at Pieces of Me. I was given the opportunity to make a set of note cards (which I posted a while back) for Chris D. who lives in Michigan. Being that this was my first RAK event, I was a little hesitant to sign up.

Well a few weeks ago, I received this sweet thank you card from Chris thanking me and letting me know and that she had received my RAK. I just think the cookie jar image is so cute and I was so happy that she liked what I sent to her. I hope to continue participating in Jen's Aloha RAK's while making new friends along the way.

Gorjuss Girl Birthday Card

I just love the GG images that Kyoko so generously gave to me. I made this birthday card for a friend whose birthday is coming up in a few weeks. I hope she likes it. I kind of screwed up the coloring of her hair so I added some Diamond Stickles and it covered it right up!! :-)

Playing Catch Up

Okay, I'm sorry for all of these posts but since my computer was down for so long I have lots of catching up to do. In fact, my computer is still not fixed and I decided to just start downloading pictures onto my husbands computer!

Anyways, after receiving my framed art from Michelle, a little while back, I wanted to make some of my own using her masterpiece as my inspiration! I actually found some 12x12 frames that my mom-in-law had bought for me a while back and decided to use them. Since my cousin is having a birthday party for her daughter in a few weeks, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to make one!
This one's not framed yet...I was having a hard time getting a good picture of it so I took it out of the frame.
I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background and some Stickles on the hula girl for some bling!
After the first one, I was on a roll.....
My GF had a birthday party for her daughter this past weekend and so I made one for her as well. It was the perfect project to use up some of my Smirk scraps!

Again, I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background and Stickles for some bling. Here's the matching card I made to go along with the gift!
After my mom saw the first two I made, she asked me if I could make one for her friend who was celebrating her birthday this past weekend.
We found the smaller 8x8 frame at Wal-mart. Her friend's favorite color is purple and she likes Asian themed things.
Here's the card that I made for my mom to give with her gift. I let her choose what she wanted on it and she chose this Gorjuss Girl image.
And the last one I made was to welcome a new addition to the family. My DH's cousin & his wife welcomed their second child last month. I still have to deliver this to them so hopefully they don't see this before it gets to them! But if I'm not that lucky, Ardis I hope you like it!
Took it out of the frame because the glass and my camera's flash were not cooperating
I just think Stickles are the greatest! Easy to use and adds such great bling to your projects!
Thank you again Michelle for your inspiration! As you can tell, I just LOVE the framed art you made for me!! :-) I hope you're all having a wonderful day!!

Such a Nice Surprise

A few weeks ago, I came home to a nice surprise from Denise! She sent me the cutest little notecard and some very pretty earrings!! It has been a stressful past few months and it was so nice to find a package in the mail for me that contained such a nice RAK! Thank you so much Denise!! You put a smile on my face and on my heart! :-)

Thank You Card and RAK

A few days after I gave Brenda her daughter's gift, she sent me a thank you card and RAK in the mail! I thought to myself, "OMG, she's crazy...she just gave me a bunch of SU stuff."!! But that's just the kinda gal Brenda is! Thanks again Brenda! I love the Hello Kitty notepad & matching post-it key ring...and the card is so adorable!!

RAKS for Some Sweet Ladies

Unfortunately I was unable to make it to Denise's recent play date but I still wanted to give these special group of ladies something small to let them know that I was there in spirit! These ladies have been so sweet, kind, generous, and inspiring and I wanted to give something back.
I got the idea for this pouch from the Inking Idaho blog.
I don't have much stamps so I just included a few stamped images.

Here's all the completed pouches...these were fun to make!
This also gave me a chance to meet Kyoko for the first time. She & I live just a few minutes away from each other and she was kind enough to meet me so I could hand my RAKS off to her and have her deliver them to the ladies for me. It was so wonderful to finally meet Kyoko in person! She is such a terrifically sweet person! AND I was so surprised when she had a great RAK made for me!!

I love Hello Kitty...as does my daughter who immediately tried to claim this notebook for herself!...and she even included a bunch of Gorjuss Girl images for me since she found out I didn't own any!!Thank you so much again Kyoko! I was in shock when I saw how many images you gave me! I'm loving them all!!

Another Thank You Card

I was so surprised when last month Brenda stopped by to drop off a bunch of SU goodies to me. I didn't have any SU products and had been going through the catalogs!! I made this card for her to thank her for being so sweet and generous! Thanks again Brenda!

A Baby Gift

Okay, so I've been a terrible friend to my GF Brenda. She had her 4th daughter on April 1st and I only recently gave her her baby gift. I made her daughter a personalized onesie and burp cloth using the freezer paper method and my Cricut! I really love making these. So sorry it took me forever to get this to you Brenda!!

I placed them in this gift bag that I made after seeing a tutorial of it on Becky Roberts' Inking Idaho blog. I also made her a gift card holder that held a gift card for Target
Thanks for stopping by and checking this out. I appreciate you taking the time to visit my blog!
